I thought it was interesting that the book described how Puritan brides wore beautiful dress for the wedding and was expected to wear the same dress the following Sunday at church so that the rest of the Congregation could admire the dress for the occasion. And much of the capacity and talent, intelligence and character of the more than 1400 of the Edwards family is due to Mrs. Edwards. As the book progressed, it became very evident to me that the influence they've had on the generations was greatly due to their interdependence on one another.
