Reservations must be made a minimum of four days prior to your arrival, and can be made up to 180 days in advance. Just head west, exit at Georgetown and follow signs to Guanella Pass for 9 miles. No services, though it's not a terrible drive to the nearby campground to the north where you'll find out toilets. Nearby activities include hiking, fishing, visiting historic Georgetown and local ghost towns. There are no electric/water/sewer site hook-ups at this campground.

Starting from Guanella Pass, right across from the Bierstadt trailhead, Square Top Lakes is definitely a hidden gem. Dogs must be on leash.

West Chicago Creek Campground is an ideal summer campsite either on the way to or from Guanella pass.

Sauntered into this rather out of the way glade between some lovely large mountains and with plenty of opportunity for shade, solar, or both all at once, to attend a "van gathering."

Historic Georgetown is also home to the Guanella Pass Brewing Company, which you can visit to learn more about the beer brewing tradition of this part of the world.

Due to its proximity to Denver this area appears to have been heavily used and abused and now dispersed camping is only allowed in specifically marked sites (you'll see lots of previously used sites). Guanella Pass Campground is located about 7 miles south of Georgetown on the South Fork of Clear Creek on the Guanella Pass Scenic Byway. Go 2.5 miles and take the right turn onto County Road 352, the Leavenworth Creek Road.

There are numerous fishing locations and scenic sites to explore along Guanella Pass. There are no electric/water/sewer site hook-ups at this campground.

This historic byway follows an old wagon route, which passes between the two towns of Grant and Georgetown, making the campground easily accessible by road. There is NO dispersed camping on the Georgetown side of the Guanella Pass do to overuse. The parking length ranges from 20 to 45 feet. If camping is not exactly your thing, you will be happy to know that there are plenty of hotels and restaurants in Georgetown, where you can go to unwind and relax while enjoying the serene country air.
